FRANKIE C
I think its safe to say that Frankie C has been in and around the NYC scene since very early on and in that
time, like very many of his peers, things have evolved and taken different directions but for Frankie C it has
definitely been a continuous pursuit of his love for music and a growth that has been somewhat organic
and like they say 'Rome wasn't built in a day…..but if they let Frankie C build it, it could've been'.
As much as Frankie has been DJing House Music since 1991 in numerous clubs including Metro 700,
Roseland, China Club, Roxy, Cameo Theatre (Miami) it is with his regular exploits outside of the US to spin at
legendary clubs such as The Cross and Pacha, London and Space, Ibiza, where he constantly draws
influence that reflects in both his DJing and his studio work where he currently owns and operates his
recording studio "The Ready Room" in New York , where like any true audiophile, Frankie spends much more
time behind his monitors than should be allowed.
Prior to finding his true love in House Music, Frankie flirted candidly with the early days of Hip Hop and still
quotes to this day that those sounds were "merely planting seeds" and soon after Frankie's initial dalliance,
things began to morph into Hip House where Frankie cites some of his seminal tracks including "Work it to
the bone", "Jack your body" and "Party people."
Asked about his heroes and early influences he roll's off innovators and general pioneers such as Bobby D
Ambrosio, Todd Terry, "Little" Louie Vega of Masters at Work, and Timmy Regisford as Frankie was a regular
devotee to Body & Soul and Club Shelter and the soulful, mesmerizing sounds that would emanate from
within.
The past two years have seen Frankie's star firmly in the ascendant with him being made head of A&R at U-
Phonic records whilst tackling various personal production projects, alongside various remix duties that are
sure to cement Frankie C as a sure fire winner when it comes to picking your 12"s, or in these modern days
MP3's!!
